This cozy restaurant has been open for several months now after purchasing what used be Pa's Kettle or Pa's Place. They still serve "scones" a fluffy, soft baked, deep-fried bread served with honey butter and homemade strawberry jam. The menu consists of good old-fashioned american breakfasts like omelettes, cinnamon french toast, hashbrowns, pancakes, pork chops, eggs. For lunch there are salads, sandwiches, chicken strips, hamburgers, soups. I ordered the Kettle Inn Special and had french toast, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. Everything was good except the bacon was over cooked. The homemade strawberry jam on the french toast reminded me of eating over at my grandma's house when I was a kid! The coffee was good and the refills kept coming. The service was very good today, it can be a hit or miss. The one thing that really bugs me about this place is that they don't bring you water. You have to ask to get a glass of water which should be a staple. The food is good and the portions are decent. Those of you familiar with Gateway Breakfast House will feel right at home as one of the original owners, Tara, is the owner of Kettle Inn. The staff is kind and friendly and the prices are fair. It gets busy on the weekends and there isn't much of a waiting area. There's old-fashioned sit at the counter seating as wells as booths which seem a bit small and crowded. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee, homemade breakfast or lunch, and good conversation this is the place to go.
